In Halloween Ends, the biggest killer may be unfair expectations

The movie brings to a close the cycle of motion pictures that got underway in 2018 with David Gordon Green's namesake franchise revival,

Even though it may be necessary, cutting out all of the in-between material seems counterproductive for a conclusion that isn't just fixated on its characters.

Halloween Ends fails to thread the needle necessary to join the three most recent movies, much less act as a suture for nearly 45 years of canon.
