The service is now available on all major mobile and desktop platforms, having been expanded to iOS, Windows, and Mac.

Requirements for installing Google One VPN on macOS
Let us now get this VPN up and running. The only requirements for this are a MacOS device (either Intel or Apple Silicon-based) and a valid Google account. That’s all.
Download the Installer.
Navigate to the Google One VPN MacOS download using your default web browser.
Download and install the VPN.
When the file has finished downloading, launch Finder, navigate to the Google One DMG file, and double-click it. Double-click the VpnByGoogleOne.pkg file when prompted, and follow the simple installation wizard.
Begin using Google One VPN.
When the installation is finished, a small key icon will appear in the top bar. Click that icon, and then click Get Started in the resulting pop-up.
In the resulting pop-up, select Launch at Startup and toggle the ON/OFF slider.
Turn on Google One VPN.
When you click the ON/OFF slider, a warning message will appear informing you that VPN by Google One has been disabled. Click Open System Settings in that pop-up. Locate the Security section in the resulting window and click Allow.
The VPN is now active and encrypting and anonymizing your network traffic.
You can check that it’s up and running by clicking the key icon in the top bar, where you should see that the VPN is active and protecting your online activity.
You have now added an extra layer of security to your macOS device. Your networking speeds will have been slightly reduced, but this is a worthwhile trade-off for the increased privacy.
Conclusion
The above steps are followed by a few more, such as enabling a system extension, adding VPN configurations, and optionally approving auto-start capability for the VPN client, to get the VPN working on macOS. You can access the app’s settings while the VPN is active by clicking the icon in the menu bar area.
Google One VPN for desktops is available in the same countries where its mobile services are available. Hopefully, more countries and regions will be added to this list in the near future. Google also has comprehensive support documentation in case you run into issues with Google One VPN on Mac.
